Sam & Julie

Winter Wedding at The Franklin Park Conservatory

Columbus, Ohio

Julie was dressed in her stunning Essense of Australia wedding gown. Her hair was done, her makeup perfect, and all the details just right. Today, she was a bride! Today, she was going to marry her best friend, Sam. But first, she wanted to do a first look with the man who will be giving her away, her father. We did her first look in the hallway leading into the Palm House. Nobody was around, it was the perfect place. Her father stood there, back turned to the hallway. He was excited yet humbled, today his little girl was getting married. Julie nervously and excitedly walked out down the hallway. Full of so many emotions she tapped her father on the shoulder. Julie’s Dad was in awe when he saw her. She was absolutely gorgeous, a princess, yet still his little girl. Julie and her father had the sweetest moment. Their first look made me tear up! It was something that I will never forget.

When Julie dreamt of her wedding, she envisioned getting married at the Franklin Park Conservatory. You see, Julie’s favorite color is green and she LOVES everything outdoors. What not a perfect fit for this bride-to-be! Surrounded by lush palm trees and gorgeous staircases, the Palm House is stunning. Julie and Sam had their wedding date set for April! However, Sam had gotten a promotion in work and they had to move much sooner, so they bumped the wedding up to February!

Their wedding day happened to be in the middle of a snowstorm! The worst snowstorm Columbus, Ohio has seen in a while. The roads were SO bad and the visibility almost impossible. It took me a full extra hour to arrive to the wedding! The Conservatory closed to the public due to the weather. This turned out to be a really neat blessing because we had the entire place to ourselves. Once inside the conservatory, you’d never know there was a blizzard just outside. Soft green tones and gorgeous gardenias florals by Petals and Leaves filled the room. Gardenias are Julie’s favorite flower. Her Grandmother used to grow them and they reminded her of her childhood. I love when details have personal meanings! It makes the day so special.

Surrounded by close family and friends, these two shared the most beautiful vows and love for one another. Their ceremony was perfect. Sam’s mom gave the reading, it was filled with so much love and faith. After, all that’s what it’s all about! What an intimate wedding day in the most luxurious tropical venue. The snow stopped just in time for bride and groom portraits! It truly was meant to be! We ventured outside to capture romantic and cozy winter photos outside of the conservatory. What a perfect day for a beautiful couple! Congratulations to Sam and Julie on your marriage. I am so honored to be apart of your day and celebrate your marriage! Love you both!
