My Memorial Day Weekend
Columbus, Ohio
This Memorial Day Weekend my best friend, Louisa, came to visit! Louisa and I have been friends since second grade! We went to elementary school, middle school, high school, and college together! The first time we’ve been apart is when I moved out to Ohio and her to Wisconsin! We stay in touch by texting all the time, writing each other letters, and of course, taking turns to visit one another!
We had such a fun Memorial Day weekend! The weather was amazing and we spent most of our time exploring Columbus and swimming in the pool!
Our first adventure was to Red Twig Farms in New Albany! Red Twig is a small, family-operated farm that is known for their Spring Peony fields. I had never seen fields of peonies and was SO excited for this adventure. The farm was stunning and the peonies definitely lived up to their reputation!
Our second adventure this past weekend was to Mitchell’s Berries for Strawberry picking! We got their early and it was SO hot outside on Memorial Day! We picked about 10 pounds of strawberries and ate a bunch as we picked! When we got home, we made strawberry jam and strawberry rhubarb pie! Needless to say, it was delicious! I keep eating the strawberry jam and making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. There’s nothing like homemade jam!
We spent the rest of our weekend having a Memorial Day picnic with dear family friends and cooling off by the pool! What an amazing visit and weekend with my best friend! I can’t wait to visit her in Madison soon!
