Celebrating Baby Musayev

Incredibly loved. That’s how I feel. This past weekend Musa and I traveled back to my hometown in Upstate New York for our sweet Olivia Jane’s baby shower. Family and friends traveled to celebrate with us and I don’t even have the words to describe the day.
My mom hosted the baby shower and put so much thought into every little detail and decoration. Decorating is truly her gift and she went above and beyond to make it so special. Our nursery theme is a little lamb for two reasons. The first is the little lamb of God, to start our family on the foundation of our faith, and the second is because we have two herding dogs, Rex and Fly! Needless to say, my mom took our “welcome little ewe” theme and made it so elegant!
My dad did all of the cooking! He is an incredible chef and crafted the sweetest luncheon. From a Mom-osa bar to all the sandwiches and desserts, it was SO delicious and made from the heart. For the foodies out there he made the ultimate chicken salad with homemade croissants, his famous lobster rolls, a tomato Caprese salad, Mesa Grille’s Southwestern potato salad, a grilled eggplant salad, brie and San Danielle prosciutto paninis, Chocolate Mousse with Framboise, Ina Gardners’s coconut cupcakes, and sweet lamb sugar cookies. It was incredible. So much time and thought went into perfecting the menu.
Musa’s parents drove in from Columbus, Ohio and it meant so much to us to have them there. Musa and I never had grandparents in our lives so it truly meant a lot to us to be able to share that grandparent love with our children. It was so special to have them there to celebrate Miss Olivia!
My Aunt Kate and cousin Mayrose drove up from Connecticut and truly poured their hearts out into helping us with the shower. They made the sweetest diaper cake that would make Pinterest jealous! They helped us with the florals, headband station, and just made the day so incredibly special. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did.
Surrounded by close family and friends we celebrated our sweet baby girl to come! It was such a wonderful afternoon, amazing food, and filled with so much love! It made me even more excited to meet Olivia this December! She is already so incredibly loved. I can’t believe I’m one week away from the final trimester! I’m so ready to meet her and be her mama!
