Meet Rex Our Australian Shepherd

Rex (aka Rexie Roo, Sexy Rexy, Roo Bear, Rexington, and Rexasaurus, just to name a few) is our three-year-old tri-color, Australian Shepherd. He is a really cool dog. I am an all-around animal lover, but dogs will always have a special place in my heart.
Two years ago, before I met Musa, I was looking for a herding dog puppy! My childhood friend back home reached out to me saying that I should look into Australian Shepherds. Her family grew up with them and her friend just had a new litter of puppies! She sent me a picture of the litter and on the far right side of the group was a black and white little furball. I immediately knew that this was my Rex. I reached out to the breeder and a couple of weeks later I went back home to Upstate New York to see the puppies.
The puppies were four weeks old when I saw them, they barely had their eyes open and they were so tiny! Once again I found myself picking out this small black and white puppy amongst the group. I picked up Rex and held him in my arms. He was so adorable! When I put him back in with his siblings, he would crawl his way over to me and reach out his little paw. I knew we were meant to be!
When the puppies were ready to go home a few months later, I went to pick up Rex. He was the fluffiest little fur ball I had ever seen. He loved the Upstate New York snow because the snowflakes moved. This herding dog instinct carried onto leaves, moving animals, airplanes, bicycles, and so many other objects he encountered as he grew up.
Fast-forwarding to today, Rex is my companion. He goes to the horse farm with me every week, runs errands with me, loves playing with other dogs, and enjoys learning new tricks! And boy, does he know so many tricks! I don’t know where I’d be without him, but he sure keeps our lives entertaining!
