The Story Of Us
Our wedding day was one of the best days of my life! We got married at Crago Farms on August 27, 2016. Everything was absolutely beautiful! Words can not describe the feelings or emotions about what it is like to marry the love of your life! It is SO exciting! We had a little bit of an interesting wedding day because we had a tornado run through!!
The ceremony was perfect. It truly is my favorite part of a wedding day (both to watch and to be apart of)! There’s something about the ceremony that is so intimate and truly what marriage is all about. Two people in front of family and friends vowing to spend the rest of their life together and to live a Godly love. You can read our vows HERE.
After our ceremony, the wind started to pick up a little bit. I didn’t notice much until the sky became darker and by darker I mean black. Our amazing photographer was working as fast as she could to get all of our family portraits done! Then she whisked us away for bride and groom photos.
My horse attended our wedding. It was SO pretty to have him in the background across the pond during the ceremony. Truly something out of a fairytale! However, the only downside about having him at our wedding was when I stepped in horse manure on our way to bride and groom photos!! Yes, my beautiful Harriet Wilde shoes in horse manure.
The second event that happened was my veil flew off into the pond. And then the storm hit. The tornado sirens went off, the hail began to fall, the wind howled, and the horse got loose! I know this seems like a lot of events, but it really made for a fun day.
They moved us all into the barn and the celebration continued!! A few hours later, the sun came out and we were able to go back outside again! Even though we had a little bit of chaos during our wedding, that’s honestly life. Sometimes life throws at you little obstacles and you have to keep on going along. It makes for a fun story to tell and if we can get through that on the first day of our marriage, we can get through anything!!
